Yep....On a roll with the Captain Crunch!
You see, my daughter did my shopping that day and of course she bought the BIGGEST box of Captain Crunch outside of Costco!
I've only had the box for a week and I had just enough left to make......
Captain Crunch Milkshakes!!
(guess I'm not the only one in the house who likes this cereal)
Let me give you a little background to this shake. It started from the same thread as my Captain Crunch French Toast and I had recently connected with an old friend that lived down the street where I grew up. She chimed in on the Captain Crunch Facebook status and told me about Captain Crunch Milkshakes. YUM!!!
Here's the fun part....Cindy and I were inseparable. We grew up a few houses from each other...and played everyday. Until her folks managed the unmanageable....they separated us by moving out of state. We saw each other a couple of times during high school....then poof....no more.
One of the things we use to do was try to create recipes. Everything we created tasted the same though....maybe cuz they all had chocolate and peanut butter in them...ya think?
And here we are....we found each other last week and we're already doing the recipe thing together (several hundred miles separated but who's counting?). Besides, the best part is...after all these years, it's like old times instantly.
Sooooo...get out your blender. Mine broke so I have to use the smoothie maker...which leaks all over the place. (piece of crap that it is) But it's better than nothing.
For now.
Put about 3 cups of Captain Crunch in the blender...and I started with 4 HUGE scoops of vanilla ice cream (french vanilla that is).
Blend away (don't forget to put the lid on)
At this point I realized it was too milky so I added more ice cream. More ice cream is never a bad thing, IMO.
I had started out with a full container (1.5 quarts) of ice cream and used half of it...
And it was perfect!!!
Smooth, creamy...and tasted like a bowl of Captain Crunch. Only you didn't feel like your mouth had been shredded after finishing it! LOL
Way Yum!
So...here's to Cindy!!! Although if she were here, I'm sure we'd have added some rum to this and made it an adult beverage....CHEERS!!!
Very nice! I'm going to have to buy some Capt'n Crunch. I haven't had it in years.
ReplyDeleteLOL how fun!!
ReplyDeleteSend me that glass, I need to check if it's really that good :))))
ReplyDeleteDAYUM!
ReplyDeleteI love your Cap'n Crunch posts!
ReplyDeleteD - You are such a hoot! Yummy indeed!
ReplyDeleteHooking up with old friends is so much fun. Pretty cool to be whipping up recipes together again. I have the same smoothie maker and it really is a piece of crap! I just tossed mine out because it was falling apart. The milkshake looks pretty darn tasty :D
ReplyDeleteare you working on a sponsor for your blog???
ReplyDeleteAre we going to see Cap'n Crunch stuffing in your Christmas Turkey???
Oh. Wow. I want that so bad I can taste it! Heh.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so yummy and indulgent. I bet rum would be mighty good in it. I love friends like that - no matter how long goes by it's like you were never apart.
ReplyDeleteUm Yum! That sounds wonderful!
